Hello

Welcome to my public thoughts on my personal life goals. In 2014, I set out to change my lifestyle, and I began with the best way I knew how - my closet. I share with you, how the road to Perfecting My Closet, is helping me achieve my ultimate life goals.

Oh man, 2/5

I’m sure you all know that sales are still abundant and I’ve been researching/looking out for cashmere sweaters. I researched enough to, kind of, determine a sweet spot for how much I should be paying, and what to look for.

At first I thought I wanted something that would last forever, but I took a look at how long clothing stays in my wardrobe, and found that tops generally stay for about 3 years before I get bored. So, even if I could theoretically put the sweater away for years until I found renewed love for it, why? So I decided that I didn’t need something incredibly expensive, but I still wanted decent quality to get me through approximately 3 years.

’Experts’ claim that you’re in a good range For quality between $200-$300. Some say you can also put them in the washer on hand-wash or delicate cycle, using cold water. Me, being me, found the latter exciting, but also being cautious, didn’t want to risk it in a $200 sweater.

So, right now, I’m testing the waters with a Lord & Taylor dark gray, 2-ply, crew neck sweater. Regularly at $169 CAD, I found it for approximately $45 at Hudson’s Bay - at that price, I’m OK with testing the waters of the washer.

This is my second Allowance Item of the year, and is also my foray into 100% cashmere sweaters, an item of my Wishlist from previous years, and if all goes well, may replace a few older sweaters.

I’m an undiagnosed shoe-aholic: item 3/5
