Super disappointed - return of my Vince Camuto espadrilles

Super disappointed - return of my Vince Camuto espadrilles

I'm super sad to have to write about this but wanted to share my experience with espadrilles.

As you know, last month I bought my summer shoes for the year - Vince Camuto dusty blue suede espadrilles. I was so in love until I started wearing them.

After the first two wears I noticed that the rubber accents/details on the bottom of the soles were coming off. No biggie, I said to myself, they're not really affecting the wear of them.

Then on my 9th and final time wearing them, I noticed that the body of the shoe was seperating from the sole because the twine used to hold them together had broken and the stitches were coming undone. On both sides of the shoe! I couldn't wear them anymore!

The store I bought them from was nice enough to check with their shoe repair guy to see if they could do anything for me but he said since they weren't attached together other than from the twine, he'd had to undo the whole thing and restitch them, and can't gaurantee that it'd be a permanent fix because that was the only way the body was attached to the sole.  They offered me a full refund.

I pondered it for a while and loved them so much that I wanted to take them for a second opinion but I reevaluated and just didn't want to go through the hassle only to havent happen again, and spend more money on something that might happen again. Back they went.

On the bright side, my shoe count went back down, my yearly budget went back up, and I now know to look for espadrilles that are actually together by more than twine.
