Thank you for your service
Yesterday, I finally said good-bye to my beloved Hunter boots. As part of KonMari's purging method, she says to thank your items for their use and let them go - I didn't want to part with them, but old age, and good use, has taken up their time with me.
I can't begin to tell you how much I love these boots and how many years of service they gave me in protecting me from the hardships of Vancouver rain - 7+ years, many record-breaking rainfall months, and endless puddles.
Thank you. It comforts me to know that you reached your full potential during your time with me and you fulfilled your purpose. I've heard many stories where Hunters don't live past 2 years without having to be mended, so I'm glad we 'showed them!' and outlived your expectancy. I wish we could have had more years together but even with repair, it is not a sure win, and would just prolong our separation. I don't know if I could take the disappointment. It is best we part as we have.
