Life has been quite hectic lately and I've been trying to find balance with my personal goals and sanity, my marriage (not that it's bad, but my husband and I work hard on a daily basis to make sure we are great), getting more movement in and trying to explore more.
My husband loves the outdoors and this year I wanted to make it a goal to try to get out more and do more outdoorsy things with him. I'm not a natural nature person but when I'm out there, and properly doused in big repellant (bugs love me), I very much enjoy it.
This weekend we attempted Evans Peak, located in the Golden Ears Provincial Park of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, approximately 30 minutes away from home.
It was a beautiful day, and the trees gave us shelter from the heat. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of starting too late and underestimated the intensity of the hike. We had to turn back about 45 minutes from the peak (we were told there was snow! Would have been quite the sight to see) as my knees couldn't withstand the incline.
Disappointed in myself, but vow to return!
