The one that got away
We all have something that haunts us, that we wish we had pulled the trigger on when it was in our hands, and taken it home with us right then and there. My thing that haunts me, is this bag - rather, it did haunt me.
I first saw this bag in Holt Renfew Toronto almost 10 years ago. I remember it well - I had just purchased two other bags from the same line (one being this satchel, and the other being a convertible crossbody clutch). Days later, I returned to the store only to see this beauty on sale. I stood in the store and pondered the acquisition and eventually walked away. It bothered me. I tried to go back for it the next day but it was already gone.
Something about this bag just stood out to me. I loved the two I already had and the entire collection just really spoke to my style, even up to today. Over the years, I would often think about this bag and try to Google it to find pictures of it, but not to much success. It would leave my mind, but here and there I would still find it creeping up into my thoughts - it was the one that got away.
But you're seeing a picture of it now, so there is a happy ending.
I FOUND IT IN A LOCAL FACEBOOK SALE GROUP - HOW amazing is that??? Not only was it in fantastic condition, but it was local so I could check it out. The price point was amazing and even though the seller advertised it as 60% worn, it was still the way I remembered it after all these years because of it's intended vintage look; the interior is in fantastic shape, to boot (which is super important to me when I look at preloved bags). AND, originally she was missing the clochette (key holder), but the night before I was supposed to meet her to pick it up, she messaged me to tell me she found it! The bag was complete. I couldn't wait to pick her up - the 24 hours wait was brutal for me, I was so excited!
It is definitely not an item I need, but I really take it as a sign that it was meant to be, and budget and wardrobe goals out the window, it's FINALLY MINE!
