Hello

revised - 2016 versus 2017's Wishlist

I managed to find one more item on my 2016 Wishlist on Boxing Day! I found my black ankle boots! As I mentioned in my previous reflection post, I decided that they didn't have to be wedges - I actually did find black ankle wedges but when I tried them on, I didn't love them, but that's fine because I found the perfect pair of ankle boots FOR ME! They're Karl Lagerfeld black ankle boots and to be completely honest, I wasn't too keen that they were KL boots. I'm not a big fan of the brand... WHAT??? He's the amazingness of fashion, what's not to love? Well, from what I've seen, and this is just based on my own experience, the quality isn't near the price point they are charging for the style and quality. Again, this is just based on what I've seen. I'm sure there are great things and I'm sure there will be some point in time where I may swallow my words, and I admit I've seen really great pieces and outfits on fashion bloggers/fashionistas, but when I'm up close and personal with the items, they don't make me fall in love. Except for these boots.

Giving credit, where credit is due, the leather on these boots is amazing, outside and inside - it's like butter. It makes it even better that I didn't pay full price for it them too, haha. Regular price is $189 (it also comes in brown suede) - for this leather, design, and construction, I'd pay that; it was reduced to $140 something - even better; then it was an extra 40% off for Boxing Day - I'm running out the door with them; AND THEN, the sales associate gave me an extra 15% percent off because I asked if she had other sizes (just to compare) but it was the last pair - MAJOR SCORE FOR ME. I probed the SA that rang me in and learned it was a return from another store so they just wanted to let it go - as easy as that, that's how I ended ticking off another Wishlist item in 2016... after a two year search.

Now, my 2017 Wishlist is revised, as follows:

  • Black sheath dress
  • Sweater dress (preferably in gray)
  • Casual jacket
  • Ivory/off-white skinny belt with gold hardware
  • Long black vest
  • Longer, less structured black blazer
  • Ivory or cream colored cashmere sweater
  • Pre-loved Louis Vuitton Samur (definitely not a rush, and not before I let go of some bags first)

Feeling bored is OK
