Hello

Welcome to my public thoughts on my personal life goals. In 2014, I set out to change my lifestyle, and I began with the best way I knew how - my closet. I share with you, how the road to Perfecting My Closet, is helping me achieve my ultimate life goals.

My first time at the Aritzia annual warehouse sale

My first time at the Aritzia annual warehouse sale

The Aritzia annual warehouse sale is one of the most highly anticipated events in Vancouver. People line-up along the seawall apparently as early as the night before! Check out photos here! Brands include Wilfred, Babaton, Talula, Rag & Bone, among others. If you don't know of Aritzia, you can find out more here, warehouse sale info here, and a video on tips to navigate the sale, here.

I've never been but have always pondered the idea many times before - the Google images of the line-ups remind me why I don't go (seriously, check out the link). This year was no different, however, it was a slow day for me and I overheard that the line wasn't too long, so I thought, what the heck! I lined up at 1:27 p.m. and waited about 10 minutes - I got lucky because about 15 seconds after that, I turned around and the line had tripled! I entered, didn't have a bag to check, and grabbed a shopping bag - clothes and shoppers were strewn everywhere. It was chaos. I almost left. I had two male colleagues in tow, who were just as curious as I was about the yearly event that seemed to put the whole city in a frenzy, so we braved the crowds and tried to look for some items. My guys were awesome, finding me clothes and helping me hold onto my items so I could try stuff on - one found a winter coat that was perfect, but too large.

After 20 minutes they left, and I battled on by myself. I think if I was a regular shopper of Aritzia, I would find this amazing since a lot of items were 50%, HOWEVER,  should note that there are some pieces you can still find on the website; I think their best deals are their jacket and coats, and random winter accessories such as scarves and mittens.

Overall, I spent about 2 hours there and did manage to walk away from the battle zone with something that has been on my Wishlist for some time now - a gray wool winter coat! It was actually the one my coworker picked out for me. I actively searched for a smaller size but there were none on the floor, when lo and behold, I found the perfect size hanging on a rack in the fitting area. Snagged it! It's still regular price on the website too - here, if any one is interested; comes in other colors.

Another item I found isn't on my Wishlist but it is something I found I needed during the year - just regular collar-less blouses. I chose this one with a neck-tie option. This is an item that can still be found on the website here, if you don't want to mess with the crowds.

I don't think I'll be going again next year, but I think if I'm in the market for a coat again, I'll DEFINITELY be going. If I ever re-do my entire wardrobe from scratch, I'll probably go because they do have a lot of pieces in neutral colors that are very comfortable and easy to style. But those line-ups...
