It's fantastic when my work falls in-line with my life goals - learning InDesign
I've been busy transitioning into my new position and part of it is to have a handle on InDesign - I'm excited to learn and am so happy to have this opportunity.
As I am getting older and growing in my career, and relationship, and life keeps getting more and more hectic, there is little time for me to learn new skill sets. Part of why I love my industry is because at the very least, if I'm not learning new skills, every day is a new adventure as I take the skills I already have and tackle what the industry throws at me - moody clients, turbulent markets, potential legal drama, internal and external politics - every day is a new day, and nothing is ever stale.
Now that I'm making a change in my role, I actually get to learn new and practical skills to beef up my arsenal and the cherry on top is that this is something that is actually going to help me in my hobbies! i.e. this blog, and if I get good enough, perhaps let me me pursue the freelancing and creative ideas I've always had but could never execute on.
Yes, it is my own fault that I didn't take my ideas a step further and just learn to use InDesign, but when you're tied down with work and life, it's tough! I can't wait to be proficient enough at it to start implementing it on my blog.
This is my first piece of InDesign work! Floor plans! Exciting! .. not too much.. but you know, it's cool that I was able to at least do that haha. This is just a small stepping stone to achieving multiple life goals of mine!
