Hello

Welcome to my public thoughts on my personal life goals. In 2014, I set out to change my lifestyle, and I began with the best way I knew how - my closet. I share with you, how the road to Perfecting My Closet, is helping me achieve my ultimate life goals.

2016 mid-year wardrobe count

At the beginning of the year, my wardrobe numbers were looking like this:

  • 106 tops (includes sleeveless, blouses, t-shirts, sweaters, sweatshirt/hoodies, blazers)
  • 54 bottoms (includes jeans, shorts, trousers)
  • 31 dresses
  • 51 shoes (I previously reported 46 pairs of shoes because I didn't count my one pair of sneakers for running, or a few pairs of shoes that were made specially for my Chinese wedding ceremony when I got married)
  • 16 scarves
  • 65 bags (including clutches)
  • 18 coats and jackets
  • 22 pieces off active wear (tops, headbands, bottoms, runners)

How is it looking now?

  • 110 tops (includes sleeveless, blouses, t-shirts, sweaters, sweatshirt/hoodies, blazers) - went up
  • 51 bottoms (includes jeans, shorts, trousers) - went down
  • 28 dresses - went down
  • 53 shoes  - went up - ugh, despite achieving my mini-goal to let go of 5 pairs of shoes, and actually letting go of 6, I brought in 8 =S Definitely still needs working on
  • 17 scarves  - went up
  • 68 bags (including clutches) - went up, but my additions have been well worn and my Speedy 30 is a definite love, and forever bag
  • 15 coats and jackets - went down
  • 22 pieces off active wear (tops, headbands, bottoms, runners) - stayed the same

Overall, I'm only 1 up in items for my entire wardrobe, which is not too bad! =) I very much want to pare down my shoes so while 2015 was my no bag and wallet purchase year, I'm going to make not buying shoes, top of the list of goals for 2017. Considering the amount of shoes, and the types of shoes I added this year, I have all my basics more than covered, and definitely have enough 'fun' shoes.
