Hello

Welcome to my public thoughts on my personal life goals. In 2014, I set out to change my lifestyle, and I began with the best way I knew how - my closet. I share with you, how the road to Perfecting My Closet, is helping me achieve my ultimate life goals.

Heading to the Big Apple!!!

Heading to the Big Apple!!!

The husband and I are headed to New York today for 5 days!

This is the first of our 2 major trips this year and we're super excited! We'll be staying at the Mandarin Oriental and have put together a fool-proof plan to see as much as we possibly can.

So what does one pack for a trip to one of the fashion capitals of the world? This was tough for me - really tough. I'm horrible at packing to begin with, but to head to NYC as someone faaaar from being a fashionista, is nerve-wrecking. I thought about going bold and just trying all the trends I've ever wanted to try - I mean, what better place right? But that would mean intense baggage, and lots of shoes, and that's not how I like to travel. So I kept it simple and neutral and tried my hand at a very minimalist wardrobe.

Since I'll be doing a lot of walking and the weather looks like a mix of hot and cool, I planned my outfits around closed-toe flats. Coincidentally, two weekends ago, I came across a pair of black, leather and pony-hair, tie-up shoes from Jeanne Beker, at an incredible, incredible, price, and picked them up for Fall. Vancouver had a shift in temperature right after I bought them and I've been wearing them since - really comfortable! So into my luggage they go as my anchor piece.

Here's what I packed:

Here's the tentative outfits I planned out:

I have a couple of work events to attend, hence the dressier looking outfits, but I'm most looking forward to seeing the city, and dressed as comfortable and weather prepared as possible. I've been checking the weather and it's changing every other day - last I checked, it's supposed to be fairly hot but also cloudy... so.. we'll see how it goes haha. Hoping to get some good #ootd posts for this, but while  I'm away, you can follow my trip on instagram!
