2 weeks of better eating!
Last week I gave myself a personal challenge to eat healthy for 1 week and it went so well, that I am now finishing up my second week! =)
It was rough for the first few days, trying to adjust my mind and body to get used to eating less, but more often. I felt I was constantly eating, but never satisfied, and by 4pm I was starving. After day 3 or so, I started to get used to it and I didn't focus on the changes anymore and was able to better adjust the timing of when I ate to accommodate my schedule. By the end of the first week, I was getting the hang of it.
Did I slip? I wouldn't say that I slipped, but rather, consciously decided to eat a few things that are not considered healthy, but worked into my new meal plan, which was perfectly fine for the goals I was working for. Remember, not so much a diet, but rather a lifestyle change.
I found it really helped to plan what my meals were going to be, which forced me to make a proper grocery list. I did have a few new 'dishes' I had wanted to try but got stuck with a proposal before the weekend so I didn't have time to get too into my meal plan; I just gave my husband the same list from last week to pick up.
This week, I made the same things - turkey and avocado breakfast sandwiches and random variations of the salad I made in the first week. Once I get more and more used to this, my next challenge is going to tackle my weekend eating - stay tuned!
