My first farm-to-table experience at Royal Dinette
Last month I had my first farm-to-table experience at Vancouver's Royal Dinette, awarded Vancouver's Best New Restaurant and Chef of the Year, David Gunawan.
We started with a Chef's selection of cheese and their West Coast oysters - the oysters were sooooo good.
For my entree, I ordered the Saffron Cassarecces and it was delicious. The lamb was juicy and tender and I could really taste the basil that was used. It was surprisingly a large amount of food.
And, saving the best for last, I ordered the Goat Milk Ice Cream and Jam for dessert and it was AMAZING. It's hard to explain but it was super light and fluffy with a base of caramel and a mix of blackberries, topped with lemon crumble. AMAZING. I would go back there for just the dessert.
I'd love to come back and try a few more of their dishes. My original choice was the Ling Cod but I just can't resist a good pasta dish. And their dessert, must try more. For more information, you can visit their website here =)
