There are 'needs' that I feel would complete my wardrobe and I deem as essentials, or necessities (like that silver Vittore ring from Swarovski that would complement the gold one I just bought; I 'need' it in rose gold too), but when you're out in the cold in negative weather, commuting to work, you rethink you're Needs - items you really need to get on the ball, and BUY.
I Need a pair of gloves. I have 2 pairs of mittens, but no gloves, and in -7 weather on a transit commute. I Need. Doesn't mean I'm going to buy one all willy-nilly, but I need to be on the look out for that, sooner than later. The difficulty with gloves for me, is that the fingers don't always reach the end so that's why I've been putting buying them off, but there's no way around it now, I really Need a pair.
A large warm scarf - I have many scarves but in all their mix of sizes and materials, I don't have one large enough, and in the right material to keep me warm enough. I'm thinking a large blanket scarf is next on the list. I have a bit of regrets not picking one up at the Aritzia sample sale - in fact, I scoffed at them because everyone had them, and I didn't want to look like everyone. I guess the scarves are having the last laugh now!
You can tell that winter has hit us, eh? And you can probably tell that I'm Canadian, haha.
Add to the list, a cashmere sweater - now this is half 'need' and Need. I 'need' it because I don't have one and I'd like one in ivory for the winter, and I Need it because it WILL keep me really warm and I don't like bulk in my sweaters of the knitted type because they tend to make me look plump. I'm researching different brands, asking for feedback, and keeping my eye open for a good deal, but I think this is a Need. Post-haste.
I will purchase these in January during the post-holiday sales and I'll still be able to get good wear of them for 2 months... maybe 3...
