My top 5 wardrobe additions of 2016
Well, 2016 has been an absolutely wonderful year for my wardrobe. I not only found my pre-loved Speedy, but I also found the perfect ankle boots for me, with less than a week left in the year. Woot! I rounded up my top 5 additions and share why they're my favourite! No particular order =)
My pre-loved Speedy 30 - I feel like I mention this bag frequently and I guess it make sense. I've been hum-ing and ha-ing about buying it for YEARS and I finally decided to go pre-loved. I couldn't be happier! It's been my most used bag this year, coming in at 39 wears. I replaced the pull tag and also thanks to a lovely friend, have a lock and key coming for it, due to arrive by next Tuesday. It's been a great carefree bag, and its pre-loved look just adds to its cool factor, versus a brand new one. I think if/when I use this one to its last thread, i'll either keep repairing it (although it will slowly lose its 1997 materials), I'll go for another pre-loved one.
Karl Lagerfeld black ankle boots - you know how sometimes there's a puzzle piece that is missing that would make everything perfect? Black ankle boots are my puzzle piece, and after searching for two years, finally found the perfect pair for me. I can now make so many more outfits, and perfect the not-yet perfect ones. Amazing-ness.
My Coach x PACMAN double-zip crossbody bag - it's been so long since I purchased a bag on a whim, especially going for something I consider to be very trendy (the PACMAN design is trendy in my opinion, and wardrobe, haha) but I couldn't resist. It turned out to be a great purchase of whimsy and function as the bag still fits my iPhone 7plus and all the essentials I need on the weekends.
My one and only compact wallet, the MCM compact wallet I purchased during my trip to Seoul. This was a GAME CHANGER. This wallet has had significant impact on my bag collection, and potential my wallet collection. It showed me that I really could downsize to only the necessary cards (although having a phone that actually has workable apps helps to offload the burden through card apps). thus allowing me to use smaller bags. Other than for work, I've been able to carry a lot more of my smaller bags, and other crossbody bags, and at times even just carry my phone and wallet for quick errands. That's never happened before! I bought it in August and used it for over 100 days before I wanted to give it a rest. Also, the red and the bunny character totally breaks the usual 'safe and classic' wallets I normally purchase.
And last but not least, a simple cardigan from Banana Republic - this really doesn't look like much but when I wear it, I feel very comfortable in it and oddly, it gives me a lot of confidence. For what reason, I can't tell you, but the way it makes me feel, has me sold!
That rounds off my top 5 wardrobe additions for 2016! I'm looking forward to using these items for the next year!
